Wi-Max – Next generation internet
The many internet providers around the globe are always looking for expansion and innovative technologies to expand their reach. This allows more people to get hooked onto the internet allowing their subscribers high-speed access to the internet. DSL technology has some distance limitations which is roughly a thousand meters to the nearest access point which is normally in a telephone company’s switching office and then comes Wi-Max, the next generation WiFi which is more powerful that the first generation wireless internet technology. WiFi suffers greatly from obstacles which is why most WiFi hotspots are restricted to confined or small areas where their antenna’s cross over one another as we may know from som emajor city centers around the world. Wi-Max would allow access to more people in rural areas to augment the weaknesses of existing technologies by becoming the end nodes where more people through wireless antenna’s can access faster internet connections where they used to be void due to remoteness of their location. It would also be cheaper that copper based internet access for there would be no need for cables and other supporting hardware. Imagine an expansion from 30 yards to 30 miles of powerful high-speed internet connection, now that’s reach for the ever growing internet.
